Astro-photography in Melchsee Frutt

Few summers ago we packed our tent, the camera and some food and decided to hike on an extremely beautiful path across the alps: the hiking of the four lakes.

Here you can find some more detailed information about the path:

Nevertheless, the beauty doesn’t stop at the astonishing mountains with their green grass. Starting from Melchsee, the second lake, Tannensee is an official spot for camping during the night.

So we deployed our tent and finally, after a few good hours of hiking, we managed to finally relax, and enjoy the serene atmosphere from between the Alps…

As a photographer I could’t wait for the night to come. I consider myself extremely lucky, because on that night we enjoyed one of the clearest skies I have ever seen.

So as my girlfriend was sleeping, around 11 PM, I took out my photo equipment (tripod and camera) and started to shoot the stars.

The gear of that night:

  • Canon EOS R

  • Sigma ART 18-35 f.18

  • Manfrotto tripod

This is the result of that fairy night, I will never forget.
